General Information
There are times in the year when severe weather may impact on our capacity to remain open. The school will only be closed as a last resort, eg. travelling becomes hazardous, or if the site is not safe for students and staff. The decision to close the school rests with the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team.

Welcome to the Primary Phase

Primary Phase Students

Welcome to the Primary Phase where we cater for children from 3 to 11. We are currently expanding to two-form entry, so we have two classes in Reception and Year 1 and one class per year group from Year 2 to Year 6. We also have a morning Nursery class and an afternoon Nursery class.

Throughout the Primary Phase our children are encouraged to become independent and enthusiastic learners. The bright and well equipped classrooms are complemented by the facilities that we share with the Secondary Phase, such as the sports' pitches, ICT suites and dining hall, promoting an environment where children can develop fully.

There is an emphasis on individual needs throughout the school, with extra support or challenge for those who need it. English and Maths are paramount but we also value creativity, so we provide a broad and challenging creative curriculum. Sport and physical education are enjoyed by all the pupils, with a strong emphasis on participation for all. Art, music and drama all form part of the curriculum and there are clubs and extra-curricular activities which aim to enrich the children's experiences and involve them in as many positive and exciting activities as possible. More information on the curriculum and extra-curricular activities is available elsewhere on the website.

Residential trips are offered to children in Years 4, 5 and 6. Day visits are also undertaken by all the children to places of interest, complementing and enriching the work taking place in the classroom. We also welcome many visitors to the school for the same reason.

We are really looking forward to moving into our brand new purpose-built building on site which will be ready for September 2016 and will provide us with fantastic new facilities.
