Junior School

Nurturing tomorrow's students

Junior School 002 Speech night and School photo's - for prospectus Sept 2007 011

Throughout the junior school our children are encouraged to become independent and enthusiastic learners. The bright and airy classrooms are complemented by shared facilities with the Senior School allowing children the space in which to develop fully.

As the children move through Key Stage One and Two there is an emphasis on individual needs with the increased use of specialist teaching - particularly at Key Stage Two. Lessons are lively and fun. Numeracy and literacy are paramount, but we provide a broad and challenging curriculum.

Sport and physical education are enjoyed by all the pupils, with a strong emphasis on participation for all. Art, music and drama all form part of the curriculum and there are clubs and extra curricular activities which aim to enrich the children's experiences and involve them in as many positive and exciting activities as possible.

Residential trips are offered to all children in Key Stage Two including trips to our own outdoor centre in North Yorkshire. Day visits are also undertaken by all the children in our own minibuses to places of interest complementing and enriching the work taking place in the classroom.

William Hulme's Junior School Offers:

  • A stimulating and caring environment
  • An ideal location near the city centre

At William Hulme's we nurture the whole child, recognising that each learner is individual and special. By the age of 11 our children are lively, confident and eager for the challenges of secondary education and life beyond school.
