School Nurse

My name is Jenny Ellis, and I run the medical centre during the school week. My background is actually in High Dependancy Care - a far cry from my current role, but an essential factor in the care I provide.

I have been at WHGS since September 2003, and my role within the school is twofold. Firstly, I am the primary first aid giver for incidents or sporting accidents, and I also look after pupils who become unwell during the school day.  Secondly, I am involved in the welfare of the pupils, which involves working in conjunction with pupils, parents and staff dependant on individual issues.

I am also involved in some of the personal social health education lessons, and teach as often as possible.  Every day is very different for me and my role extends and contracts as necessary within the school in order to provide the best healthcare for our pupils.
