PSHE
PSHE Department
Personal, social and health education is taught to all age groups at William Hulme's and covers a wide range of topics and issues. The form tutor is responsible for the delivery of the subject for one period per cycle. The lessons are designed to be informative and fun!
PSHE aims to make pupils more aware of the world around them and encourages them to think more closely about issues and choices they may have to face later in life.
The resources used come from a wide range including video, newspapers, worksheets, role play cards, pre prepared packs, home produced materials, and outside speakers.
Self-assessment is strongly encouraged and pupils are encouraged to review their progress on a termly basis.
Careers education also plays an important part at all key stages and the emphasis between a good school career and success in later life is strongly emphasised. Miss Raw, Head of Careers and Higher Education, provides the specialist resources for this and often conducts the careers sessions.
