Homework Policy
The department will comply with the school homework policy and set homework according to the following:
- A homework task should be set almost every lesson where possible.
- Homework tasks should be set wherever possible to enable more efficient use of computer time during lessons.
- Each task should where possible, be linked to the work in the lesson and will be largely either preparatory or descriptive in order to demonstrate understanding of the concepts involved.
- Longer term project work should be given where a topic does not lend itself readily to the setting of more specific tasks.
- Pupils should have the necessary resources and background knowledge.
- Each task or project should be accessible by all pupils in the group.
- Homework will be checked on a regular basis and this may often be necessary before the following lesson.
- Pupils who regularly fail to do homework should be reported to their form tutor.
- Pupils should be encouraged wherever possible to do homework for any subject in their curriculum using computers in school or at home.
- Access by all pupils to the computers in school should be
provided at lunch or after school times for them to carry out
work.
