Why work at WHGS?
Some staff members explain why they enjoy working at William Hulme's:
"I have worked as a teacher at WHGS for 9 years and I am proud to say that this time has been the most fulfilling of my working life to date. In terms of subject teaching I have been able to work well in the classroom with enthusiastic students who genuinely want to learn.
I am amazed at the rapidly changing facilities on offer to teachers today, such as the digital language suite and the interactive whiteboards. I thoroughly enjoy using this new technology, especially when I see students learning from it as well as having fun in the process.
I derive much enjoyment from being a form tutor to loyal members of my House and I support the friendly yet competitive nature of the House system. The extensive extra-curricular programme at WHGS has enabled me to spend quality time with many students outside the classroom. I feel privileged to have taken part in so many activities, such as CCF Field Days and camps, Harris House visits, numerous trips abroad, theatre visits and sports events. These have been some of the most rewarding times for me as I know that the students have benefitted greatly from their experiences.
WHGS plays a huge part in my life. Every day offers me something new and exciting. The students, on the whole, are level-headed, realistic young people and parental support is second to none. These two main factors added to a most friendly, helpful and professional staff creates a very positive working atmosphere, which I thoroughly enjoy."
