PC Gary Lewis is based at the school. WHGS takes part in the Safer School Partnerships; these partnerships are a structured way for schools and police to work with one another and with other local partners.
A little more about Gary.
"I have worked for Greater Manchester police for 13 yrs, during this time I have been based at Greenheys Police Station Moss Side. I have mostly worked as a Response Officer and Neighbourhood Officer and took the role as Schools Officer in June 2009, whereby I was a full time Schools Officer with Whalley Range High School For Girls.
From September 2010 I also joined William Hulme's and presently cover both schools.
I am committed to working alongside both schools in order to keep all students safe, reduce crime and the fear of crime and improve behaviour and attendance, I also wish to promote a positive role model with students and break down barriers that can exist between young people and the police."
