You said, we did

We've been talking to parents about things they'd like us to do differently.  Here are some of the things we've done already.

 We did

We as parents/carers need to talk to school more

We now have regular Parent Forums

Year 11s need more involvement and responsibility

We are now trialling a Year 11  Prefect scheme

Rewards trips must be about rewards and not for everybody

Only students with a Good or Outstanding Approach to Learning were allowed to go to Alton Towers or Camelot in July 2012

What about rewarding students who 'do the right thing' consistently all year?

We organised a special free trip to Silver Blades Ice Skating which the Parents' Association funded

Parents want to know how to help their children with reading and homework

We organised things like 'Supporting your child's reading' evenings and homework workshops for parents

We want to know what the children are having for lunch in the dining hall

We publish the menus now on the website

We don't understand how you teach maths to our children in the primary phase

We organised maths workshops for parents to show how we teach addition/subtraction/multiplication/division

We need Parents' Evenings to be more user-friendly

We displayed names and photographs of members of staff and a diagram showing where they could be found. We will work on a leaflet 'Getting the best out of a Parents' Evening'

If you'd like to talk to us, members of the Senior Leadership Team would like to hear from you at the next Parent Forum meeting.
