A-Level results
Principal Mr Mulholland wrote: “We are extremely pleased with this year's A-Level results which illustrate our commitment to helping our students to achieve the highest academic standards. The percentage of A* - B grades is a considerable testimony to the on-going professionalism of staff and students."
In 2012 our students achieved an average point score per student of 877.1 at A2-Level, which is amongst the highest of all maintained schools and colleges in Manchester.
Our A-Level pass rate was 98.1%, with 45% of passes being A* - B grades. Our students in the following subjects were particularly successful in achieving A* - B grades: Chemistry 52%, Mathematics 57%, Further Maths 100%, English Language 57%, English Literature 50%, Classics 100%, Sociology 50%, French 100% and Biology 45%.
90% of our students progress on to Higher Education, with 1 in 4 students gaining places at Russell Group universities. Some of our students progress on every year to very competitive courses such as medicine, dentistry and veterinary science.
