Year 4 Stockport Air Raid Shelter Trip
As part of our World War 2 topic this half term, Year 4 visited Stockport
Air Raid Shelters.
In the morning, the children got the opportunity to dress up as evacuees,
see some real World War 2 bombs and practise having to make-do and
mend. After lunch, we explored the tunnels of the shelters.
We learnt a lot about what life would have been like for evacuee
children during the war.

Chinese New Year in the Nursery Class
Nursery morning group celebrated Chinese New Year during the week commencing
Monday, 8 February. They were lucky to have a visit from Mr Wan, Sophie’s dad, to
talk about how they celebrate this festival at home. The visit ended with some prawn
cracker tasting!
Thank you Mr Wan. Gung Hei Fat Choi!

Mrs Lomas awarded the
British Empire Medal
Congratulations to Mrs M Lomas
who has been awarded the British
Empire Medal (BEM) in the New Year’s Honours
List, for services to education and to the community
in Manchester.
Mrs Lomas has worked at the school since 1998,
firstly as a teacher and then, from 2008, as a PE
Teaching Assistant.
Mrs Lomas’s commitment to our pupils is
immeasurable. She has always gone above and
beyond to ensure they all have the opportunity
to participate in and enjoy sports. She has given
up much of her time taking students to sporting
events and competitions across the North West
and is often the last person in the school building.
Her boundless enthusiasm, dedication, positivity
and love of physical activity are an inspiration to
our staff and students.
Well done Mrs Lomas!
