Updated Guidance for Parents and Carers from the DfE
The Department for Edcuation (DfE) have updated their guidance for parents and carers on what they need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. This update provides information on the national restrictions that came into force on 5 November, the latest advice for clinically extremely vulnerable children and young people and advice on the use of face coverings in education settings. This guidance can be shared with your parent networks.
We continue to emphasise with both staff and pupils the importance of handwashing and hygiene, in line with the guidance about how best to prevent the spread of infection. We are taking opportunities to reinforce these messages regularly and to encourage staff and pupils to wash their hands at regular points throughout the school day.
If you have a query about coronavirus (COVID-19) relating to schools and other educational establishments, and children's social care, in England contact the Department for Education helpline.
