We are following the advice of the Government, which can be found on their website:

Guidance for Parents and Carers from the DfE

There is no longer a legal requirement for people with coronavirus (COVID-19) infection to self-isolate.  However, if your child has any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 or a positive test result, the public health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

The main symptoms of COVID-19 are a recent onset of any of the following:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

If your child has any of these symptoms you should order a PCR test. They are advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people while they are waiting for the test result. Other symptoms linked with COVID-19 include shortness of breath, fatigue, loss of appetite, muscle ache, sore throat, headache, stuffy or runny nose, diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.  Any of these symptoms may also have another cause.  Siblings do not need to stay at home unless they show symptoms.

Testing

The Government has also removed the guidance for students in most education and childcare settings to undertake twice weekly asymptomatic testing.  However, if you want your child to take a test, you can order test kits from local pharmacies or online Order coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Face coverings/Control measures

Face coverings are now optional for pupils, staff and visitors, however we will retain control measures such as ventilation and hand washing.  If you would like your child to wear a face mask, please ensure that you provide one for them.
