A-Level success for WHGS students - Juliette goes to Cambridge

Students and staff at William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS) are celebrating their A Level success this morning with excellent individual results securing places at prestigious universities across the country.
An impressive 15% of A Level entries were awarded either A* or A grades, whilst 41% of students’ A Levels, excluding general studies, were graded between A* and B.
Peter Mulholland, Principal of William Hulme’s Grammar School, said:
“We are delighted with the performance of our students this year and I would like to congratulate them all for achieving so highly and for demonstrating so much commitment. Sharing success with young people is a poignant moment for us and this year has been no different. Yet again the vast majority of our students are going on to high quality courses at respected universities and we are thrilled to see them reap the rewards of their efforts.”
Within the success experienced by WHGS as a whole, there were a number of accomplished individual performances, including:
A place at Christ’s College, Cambridge for Juliette Bowen to read Modern and Medieval Languages after achieving A*s in Spanish, English Literature and French.
Hamzah Khanzada has a place to study Medicine at University College London with an A* in Biology and As in Chemistry and Maths.
Bisi Adeniji gained an A* in Biology and As in Chemistry and Maths. We are delighted that she will be working at WHGS as an Assistant Data Manager in her gap year.
After achieving A*s in Chemistry and Economics and an A in Maths, Jack Ryder is going on to study Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics.
Hayat Ibrahim and Kira Glen will be going on to read History at Queen Mary College, London and English and Drama at Goldsmiths College, London respectively after each achieving 2 As and a B in their A-Levels.
Amy Jones has earned a place at the University of Edinburgh to read Economics after gaining As in Sociology and Maths and a B in Economics.
Henry Francis will be reading Economics and Politics at the University of Leeds after he gained As in Economics and Politics as well as B grades in History and Maths.
Tom Johnson’s excellent grades of A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and Bs in Chemistry and Physics mean that he will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham University.
There were further outstanding performances from Paul Aworinde, Gurdas Singh, Ebe Ekaka, Zara Joseph, Zahhaad Khalil, Charlie Poland, Anisha Talati and Kate Williamson. They all achieved excellent grades and will now progress to a range of prestigious universities.
