On Friday, 5 July, students from 7T visited Lyme Park. Having done some research about the Park and Hall beforehand, and learning about map skills during Humanities, we were ready to put our new skills and knowledge to the test!
We went on a walk to the Cage, from where we had a brilliant view over Manchester, the Peak District and surrounding area. We learnt to orientate the map and were able to identify features around us.
We went on to have a tour of Lyme Hall and were very impressed with how grand the rooms were. We were even able to try on some period costumes. Following the tour, we did a treasure hunt around the gardens in small teams. We were looking for 5 types of plants and trees; fern, ivy, bluebell, willow and acorn. After the treasure hunt we had earned a packed lunch and then enjoyed some time in the adventure playground.
It was a fantastic day out!
