Y3 Visit the Egyptology Exhibit at Bolton Museum

Friday, 24 May 2019

On Wednesday, 24 May, Year 3 had a brilliant trip to Bolton Museum to visit the Egyptology exhibit.

Our informative guide showed us just how far back in the past the Ancient Egyptians lived and helped us to create a human timeline. We learned all about the ancient Egyptian afterlife beliefs and how Ammut the crocodile god would eat your heart if you had been a bad person. We even got the chance to see a real Egyptian mummy in their sarcophagus!

We were also wowed by the replica tomb of Thutmose III. The hieroglyphs on the walls were incredible!

After our Egyptian workshop, we had the chance to visit the rest of the Museum. We saw some fabulous art, learned about Bolton’s local history and visited the aquarium. What a fantastic day!
