WHGS Wins Healthy Schools Award

Thursday, 17 October 2019

William Hulme's Grammar School were proud to attend the Annual Health Improvements Award Ceremony this week to celebrate the 180 schools in Manchester that have engaged with the Manchester Healthy Schools programme.

We were very pleased to receive a Bronze award in recognition of our school-wide programme of promoting; public health priorities, healthy eating, fitness and exercise, relationship and sex education, emotional health and wellbeing and awareness of drugs and alcohol.

In addition to this, we were awarded with a Special Commendation award for our Partnership Project with Manchester Mind Peer Mentoring programme. Our peer mentors have received expert training from Manchester Healthy Schools to equip them to support pupils in the school in need of mentoring. The partnership with our school has lead to the development of the new Healthy Schools Peer Mentoring Programme and we are proud to support and deliver such a valuable service for our pupils.
