On Thursday, 14 November 2019, our Year 11 students took over the Sixth Form Centre for the day enjoying their choice of  A-Level lessons. Students took part in the following:

  • Psychology - Exploring issues such as destructive authority and eye witness memory
  • Law - An insight into recent crimes
  • Business Studies - Learning about business mergers and takeovers
  • English Literature - A masterclass in poetry
  • Biology - Fish dissection 
  • Chemistry - Investigation to find the identity of a missing molecule
  • German - Learning about the German Democratic Republic 
  • Sociology - Crime and deviance in society
  • Politics - Marginals, mandates, manifestos and majorities
  • History - Looked at the Civil Rights Movement in the USA in the 1950's and 60's
  • Geography - Place is more than just a location
  • Computer Science - How to program recursion and write a program to calculate the factorial 
  • Economics - Population and wealth distribution and the economic issues caused by wealth and inequality
  • Design - Explored computer aided manufacturing machinery
  • Spanish - Analysing scenes of an Almodóvar film in terms of themes (death and life, women empowerment, traditions in Spain) the importance of colours and socio-cultural background
