The Primary Phase celebrated Chinese New Year this half term.
They were visited by two Lion Dancers, who talked to them about Chinese culture and demonstrated a traditional dance. The children were then taught how to use the costumes.
Lots of the children and staff wore red to commemorate the day and to bring luck and fortune to all, as is the Chinese tradition.
EYFS and Year 1 were lucky to receive a traditional Chinese Money Pocket, containing chocolate coins, kindly donated by Mr and Mrs Wu who have children in school.
Lots of other activities took place during the day, such as painting dragons, puppet making, tasting Chinese food and having a go at using chopsticks!
Year 4 parents were invited in at the end of the day to watch an assembly about the Chinese New Year story and witness some traditional lion dancing.
