Tuesday, 11 February saw our first visit of 2020 from the Henshaws Society.
Our guests enjoyed the usual wonderful hospitality, buffet lunch and conversation from the Sixth Form students before being entertained by students from Key Stage 3.
To start the programme, the Grace Notes Choir sung a new United Learning arrangement of the Bill Withers classic "Lovely Day" - once again in three parts, maintaining the excellent standard set by the Christmas Concert!
To follow this, we got our bins, pots, pans and drums out and performed the Junk Orchestra's latest magnum opus, to resounding cheers.
Following this, the school Gospel Choir started a rousing sing along with our Gospel medley and then performed "Something Inside So Strong" - the Labi Siffre.
Finally, the Ukulele Orchestra perfromed two numbers: "Counting Stars" by One Republic and "Let it Be" by the Beatles.
I feel the whole performance and effort that goes in to it was summed up by Morris Loveland, the Henshaws Group co-ordinator:
"I appreciate a lot of time had been spent in preparing the musical items and the Henshaws members really enjoyed listening to and joining in with the choirs and band".
