Our GCSE Design Technology students had an exciting visit from Susie Kenyon of Orsted Energy company on Wednesday, 26 February. Their interactive workshop covered all things 'renewable energy' and even had a model of one of Orsted's wind turbines, to demonstrate how wind power is converted into electricity through electromagnetic generators. Students got to generate their own energy and received a hands-on understanding of how green energy is harvested.
Students also got to hear about exciting career opportunities with Orsted and the apprenticeships available to them. Lots of our students are motivated to go in to Design careers in future and Susie gave them some great tips on how to access these pathways and the skills needed to get there.
A huge focus for William Hulme's Grammar School is sustainability and Design Technology students are passionate about becoming responsible and green designers for the future generation.
