The Music Department have now managed to convert a large percentage of our vocal, keyboard, woodwind, violin and percussion peripatetic lessons into virtual Teams meetings. It has been a pleasure to speak with students and parents, and see the positive impact of instrumental teaching on the wellbeing of both staff and students involved.
It has been extremely quiet walking through the once musical corridors of the WHGS Music Department, but we are so pleased that we have had such great engagement in virtual lessons, and cannot thank everyone involved enough; including parents, peripatetic staff, teaching and support staff, as well as our wonderful students themselves!
Parents and carers have praised our commitment to the importance of musical teaching and the fantastic attitude staff have in creating opportunities and creative solutions for students and their musical studies.
We cannot wait to have students back in the Department and will resume face to face one-to-one teaching, as soon as it is safe to do so.
