Ways to Pay

The school is trying to cut down on the amount of cash handled by school staff.   This is because cash is much less accountable, less transparent and inefficient compared to other forms of payment.    There are many different ways to pay these days, but our preferred method is using ParentPay.

There are several different ways to pay for things at school, including trips, catering, examination fees and breakages.

If you wish to discuss the different ways to pay please contact the Finance Office on 0161 232 5522.

ParentPay is an online, secure, payments service which can be accessed from PCs and mobile devices at any convenient time.

You can also find out about school trips or find out the current balance on your child’s catering account on the ParentPay website.

Payments are notified to the school regularly throughout the day, so making payments is quick as well as easy, and means, for example, that your child’s catering account can be topped up in time for lunch on the same day.

A ParentPay account is created for each child, and accounts for different children, even if they are in different schools, can be amalgamated easily into one account, eliminating the need to log into multiple accounts to make payments. ParentPay keeps a full audit trail of all payments made via the system, making it easier to identify if payments have, for any reason, gone astray.

ParentPay – account activation details sent out when child is enrolled at school, or on request.

Credit/debit card payment – this option is only available if the relevant ParentPay account has been activated.

Direct credit through your bank (can be done via internet banking or at a bank branch).  The school's bank details are:

Barclays Bank
Sort Code 20-46-50
Account number 10768464

When asked to enter the payee name, please use "United Learning Trust" to ensure the details pass the bank's verification processes.

Your child’s name and form/class, together with a description of what the payment is for (e.g. trip, catering, etc) is required, so that we know who/what the payment is for.

Please make cheques payable to "WHGS" and include your child’s name and purpose of payment which should be written on the back of the cheque.

Cash is no longer accepted by the Finance Office, but can still be used to top up catering accounts via the cash revaluer machines. Please use one of the alternative options for payment.
