Happy World Book Day from everyone at William Hulme’s Grammar School! 📚✨
Today our Primary Phase children and staff came to school in their pyjamas for a cosy day of reading and celebrating our love of books. The children had a wonderful time exploring and enjoying books that were kindly donated to our school.
In Secondary Phase, teachers dressed up and shared extracts from their favourite books at the start of lessons. There was a Big Booky Quiz for our Year 7 students and there was a Mystery Reader in the Library all week, sharing short extracts from their favourite books.
A group of Year 7 and 8 students also had the opportunity to take part in a creative writing session with Jack Nicholls, a published author from the Portico Library, who works as a tutor and runs writing workshops. Following the workshop, the students had a chance to visit the Primary Phase and read their stories to younger pupils.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in – Today was lovely day encouraging imagination, creativity and a lifelong love of books! 📖💫
