Mrs Thomas and Mrs Cowell were incredibly proud of the outstanding work produced by our Year 10 Food and Nutrition students during their recent two-hour mock practical examination.
Students were challenged to prepare, cook and present a main course with accompaniments from a European country of their choice. The range and quality of dishes produced were exceptional, demonstrating impressive creativity, independence and technical skill.
We were particularly impressed by the advanced techniques showcased, including bread making, fresh pasta making, sauce making, choux pastry and pastry production. Students worked confidently and professionally under exam conditions, showing excellent organisation and time management throughout.
The presentation of the final dishes was equally impressive. Every plate was thoughtfully presented with attention to colour, texture and balance, alongside nutritious accompaniments and attractive garnishes. The standard of work reflected the dedication and enthusiasm students have shown throughout the course.
Congratulations to all of our Year 10 students on a fantastic achievement. We look forward to seeing your skills continue to flourish as you progress towards your GCSE assessments.
