On Thursday 1 October, Year 12 English Literature students spent the afternoon in Manchester city centre watching a performance of Othello at Home theatre.
The production was exciting to watch and really emphasised the traps Othello and Desdemona are confined to by Iago's schemes.
Students were enthusiastic about the play with audible gasps and shock when Othello slapped his wife and when he murdered Desdemona. Students expressed that they "liked how they made the complex language make sense and how great the actors were in conveying the message" and how each actor "managed to embody their character so well".
It was overall a great cultural experience and learning opportunity for all involved.
