Y8/Y9 Sports Leaders' Primary TriGolf Event

Seventeen Sports Leaders from Year 8 and Year 9 played an integral role in the success of the Manchester Primary TriGolf event, demonstrating outstanding leadership, maturity, and professionalism throughout.

Delivering on behalf of TeamMcr, Manchester’s school sport organising network, the Leaders represented both the city and William Hulme’s Grammar School with pride and distinction.

Across the two-day event, they supported and coached over 250 primary school pupils, including more than 50 students with additional needs, ensuring the event was inclusive, engaging, and accessible for all participants. The Sports Leaders were responsible for setting up and managing activity stations, delivering clear demonstrations, and guiding pupils through a range of TriGolf challenges.

They communicated exceptionally well, adapting their delivery to meet the needs of younger pupils and those requiring additional support. Their patience, encouragement, and positive attitudes created a welcoming and supportive environment, helping to build confidence and enjoyment in all participants regardless of ability.

Throughout the event, the Leaders worked collaboratively to ensure smooth organisation, effective rotations, and high standards of safety. Many showed initiative and resilience, confidently problem-solving and providing additional support where necessary, particularly when working with students with additional needs.

Their conduct, enthusiasm, and professionalism not only enhanced the experience for all attending schools but also reflected extremely positively on William Hulme’s Grammar School. Through their outstanding contribution, the Sports Leaders have helped to strengthen and develop the school’s reputation within the local community, showcasing it as a hub of leadership, inclusivity, and excellence in school sport.

Overall, the event was a resounding success. The Year 8 and Year 9 Sports Leaders delivered a high-quality experience on behalf of TeamMcr, while further developing their own leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, leaving a lasting and positive impression on all involved.
