On Tuesday 13 December, the Music Department hosted a wonderful concert in the Great Hall to a very supportive audience of parents, students, friends and staff. The evening began with the fabulous All-Stars Cuban Band with a rendition of 'She's Royal' and 'Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher' and continued with fantastic soloists (Eden, Fatima, Edlyn, Chandan and Yousef), Grace Notes Choir singing 'Santa Claus is Coming To Town', Year 7 and Senior Steel Bands, Year 10 and Year 11 Bands, Ukulele and Co. to name a few!
It was commented on by staff and the community alike that the quality and the standard of performance was excellent and a move to using the staging meant that all ensembles sounded performance-polished.
Finishing with a final collaboration of all musicians and vocalists singing ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’, all students helped set the Christmas celebratory mood. This moment was made all the more special by the fact that our very own Principal, Mr Mulholland, joined us on the stage playing guitar. The Music Department was determined to get Mr M up for what will be his last Christmas Concert in school as Principal.
Well done to all staff and students involved and thank you for everyone's efforts for making this live event come together.
