On Thursday 19 October, the Year 12 boys played the Year 13 boys at football.
The afternoon air was fresh, as summer descended into autumn, the sun setting over the Donner building, bringing a chill to the immense crowd that had gathered at the WHGS arena, in anticipation of the gladiatorial game that was about to begin.
The Year 13s showed their dominance from the kick off, leading 4-1 at the break. They kept their assertiveness in the second half by cantering to victory by a score of 7-3. Even the roar of the crowd which 'rose like ocean wave on the prairie' could not muster the Year 12s into making it a contest.
The final score was Year 13 (7) v Year 12 (3).
