In the Summer of 2023, we reached the Final of the Manchester Schools Year 10 Cricket Tournament. To get to the finals, the team played some great cricket and we beat the likes of Cedar Mount, St Bedes, Abraham Moss and Parrswood.
We were due to play Manchester Grammar School in July, but the game got rained off. The Final was then rearranged for Monday18 September. The match started and the game was definitely in the balance but, again, the weather defeated us.
It was agreed by Manchester PE Association that, under the circumstances, the trophy should be shared between WHGS and MGS.
Special mention for the now Year 11 students - Ismaeel, Yaseen, Edris, Awais, Muhammad and Rehan - who have played their last cricket matches for school, but also congratulations to the full team.
