On Wednesday 3 December, members of Harmonix Vocal Group and the Senior Choir were fortunate to have the opportunity to perform at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
On Friday, we welcomed back former students from the years 2007 to 2020 for a long-awaited Alumni Reunion. The event brought together more than 200 alumni who returned to reconnect with friends and staff.
On Wednesday 19 November, Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE Drama students were taken to the Lowry Theatre, Salford Quays to see Blood Brothers - the musical by Willy Russell (one of the set texts on the OCR specification).

On Monday, three of our students represented WHGS in the Manchester Schools Cross Country finals at Wythenshawe Sports Ground.
Our Primary Phase Action Ambassadors have launched their new social action campaign with a visit to Manchester South Central Foodbank.
On Wednesday, we celebrated our first Whole School Culture Day of the academic year!
Year 8 students spent an aptly rainy Tuesday afternoon taking shelter in the Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot, and watching a spell-binding performance of Willian Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

This week, our Primary pupils have really enjoyed learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali —the festival of lights.
Two teams of Year 6 pupils proudly participated in the T1 Rugby Mega Fest held by Team Mcr at WHGS Secondary.
On Tuesday 7 October, WHGS welcomed friends from Henshaws. As this was their first visit of the year, students were excited to perform and be part of the celebrations.
