It was great to celebrate the diversity at WHGS during our WOW Culture Day on Thursday 21 March. Students and staff wore cultural dress or clothing items that represented them, and it was lovely to hear about the different backgrounds and heritages from everyone across the site. Donations were collected on our school gates and a donut sale took place, with proceeds going to our school funds.

Throughout the day there were many amazing things taking place across the whole school, such as a special Spanish break and lunch menu, cultural flags decorating the buildings, cultural music and graphics from around the world played on our TV screens.

We also had a special visit by the Lord Mayor of Manchester and Consort; Yasmine Dar and Majid Dar.

Our Y13 Sixth Form Student Leadership Team delivered a presentation about our school and a Q&A with both the Sixth Form and Primary Pupil Leadership Team was held. Afterwards, our Performing Arts students delivered a short performance of Annie and our students who study music performed a range of songs.

All pupils involved represented our school to the highest standard and were inspirational!
